ASC 1070 information literacy exercise: Part 4: Google

An introduction to information literacy for students enrolled in ASC 1070.

Searching Google

In Part 4 of this assignment, you'll be searching Google. Google is the most popular internet search engine worldwide, according to the Pew Research Center. It gives you access to websites, reports, videos, and more - anything that is electronic and freely available.

What CAN'T Google give you? Any information that requires a purchase, such as the valuable scholarly information that you found in Academic OneFile or the recently-published books that you found in the library catalog. Remember that your library can get you these materials without charging you anything extra.

  1. Visit Google: https://www.google.com
  2. Search for the phrase stress management, then click the Search button. Your results page will look something like this:

Google search results for stress management

  3. Answer the questions in Part 4 of the Word document.

When you have answered the questions in Part 4 of the Word document (don't forget to save your work!), proceed to Part 5: Conclusion.

OCC is committed to empowering our students to succeed and advancing our community.
