The OCC Libraries will be one of the first DALNET libraries moving forward with the Go VE process, an initiative led by DALNET to move libraries to the new Primo VE management system. Primo VE is the back end interface used to manage Search Everything, replacing the current Primo Back Office. Primo VE brings improved workflows over Primo Back Office and faster turnaround time on certain process (some of which currently take a week or longer to complete).

Details about this transition which will largely be managed by DALNET and Ex Libris:.

• There is no impact on public-facing services while most of the work related to the upgrade takes place. Our existing Primo instance will not be affected and once we complete the upgrade there should be no noticeable change to the public side.
• There may be some minimal downtime on the scheduled, library-selected "go live" date as Ex Libris completes the final steps related to the upgrade.  We will make the determination of scheduling the final "go live" step.
• We will be provided a separate testing URL for a fully-functional live version of the new Primo as the migration takes place. This is different and completely separate from our existing Primo instance.
• While it’s hoped we’ll be able to complete the process in less than 8 weeks once it’s begun there is no firm timeline for this process.

Given the small number of customizations we currently have in Primo Back Office and our well established authentication setup, we should expect a fairly smooth and transparent transition.
