Winter 2024 Library Service Updates

Electronic Resources News & Information

The latest activity in Electronic Resources at the OCC Libraries

Monthly Featured Research Guide

We now have a Featured Guide of the Month box added to the top of the Research Guides page to help promote the usage of our guides. This started in February to feature the Black History Month guide. March features the Women in Literature, History, Current Events guide.

Feature Film Streaming Video Usage

In response to the library closure due to the pandemic last year we established subscriptions to a number of streaming videos from Kanopy and Swank Digital Campus. This was primarily to provide access for students in HUM 1900 who would typically view films on reserve in the library. Usage has been good and we've been adding films as the service has been getting more attention, so far 9 films in Kanopy and 47 in Swank.

Video Plays September 2020 through February 2021:

  • Swank Digital Campus: 1093 plays
  • Kanopy: 460 plays
